Principles Notice
Kia ora whanau o te kura nei,
We have had a full-on week with the visitation of ERO. Our current status is at the beginning of the embedding stage. Which I can accept. Things we were asked to work on before her return visit in six months are our attendance based on our results of 2025, where we were red-flagged by the Ministry of Education. I am happy to say that on a weekly average to date, our attendance is sitting at 83%, a huge improvement in such a short period of time. Our next challenge is keeping great attendance all year round. The next areas that need attending to. With a change in government, there are usually changes in policies, and this is where we have let ourselves down. We will be changing over to School Docs so that if any legislation changes, they will change our policies to align. Finally, ERO is expecting an increase academically throughout the whole kura. In line with these aspirations, we have Teacher Aids covering all classes. The goal is that everyone is on an upward trajectory. I was so pleased with how all staff and students conducted themselves during the visit by ERO. We desire that students and staff grow in this vision as we strive for excellence in all that we do.Finally, congratulations to Matua Komene Marino for making the NZ Maori Mixed Touch Team, where, later on in the year, he will be heading over to Australia.“He toa takitini taku toa ehara i te toa takitahi” “My help comes from many, not just one”MaurioraMatua Te Rangi

WHAT ARE ATTENDANCE DUES?
The Ministry of Education does not fund building related costs at our School. Attendance Dues are only used to pay for building related costs. They can not be used for any other purposes. Paying Attendance Dues is a condition of enrolment for all students attending our School. Attendance Dues are compulsory – there is a legal requirement for parents and caregivers to pay Attendance Dues under the Education and Training Act 2020. They are not a donation.
