In Him we have redemption through His blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of His grace.

Principles Notice

Kia ora whanau,

Welcome back to Term 2,

To those who have lost loved ones of late, our sincere condolences go out to you all. Congratulations to our senior girls and boys Tag teams who came third and second in the Far North Schools Tag Day.

Our term has begun on a very positive note, with students engaging well. On the horizon, 5 students have been chosen from our Year 7-8 class to design patterns to put on stone for the entrance to our new library.

Tonight, our senior netball team will begin the grading rounds for this year.

Next Wednesday, the Kotahitanga Girls rugby team, which is made up of NC, TE KURA, and KCS students, will begin their campaign.

Next Thursday, our year 7-8 7’s Rugby Team will be playing here in Kaikohe.

Next week, our Year 13 students will be doing work experience in Kaikohe.

Daizaleah Marupo will be doing work experience at Petersen’s Garage as a mechanic, and Ethel Hapeta Kemp will be doing work experience at a local law firm.

Next Wednesday, our photography class will be going to Korerareka (Russell) to visit historical sights and collect visual photographic evidence.

Our Year 9 and 10 students have completed sessions with Climate Club Aotearoa; therefore, they are now developing projects that could,

  •  Reduce the school’s electricity bill (by installing solar panels)
  •  decrease car emissions ( by purchasing bikes, e-bikes, scooters, e-scooters)
  •  Grow vegetables locally (on school grounds – successfully done by Komene and students last year)
  • Grow and plant native trees ( to absorb carbon dioxide)
  • Set up a rubbish recycling system for each classroom (to reduce the amount of general rubbish)

Students will be learning how to approach the councils and other suggested organizations to get help with resources and funds.

Students are also encouraged to seek support by talking to other teachers, the principal, the office ladies, and the groundskeeper.

Enrolments:
We are looking to fill our Year 3-4 class and secondary department. If you desire to have your child taught in a Christian environment, please inquire at our front office.

Ahakoa he iti te matakahi Ka pakarukaru te totara. Although the wedge is small, it will split the totara. We may be small in numbers, but we shall overcome our foes.

FOR PARENTS AND WHANAU

Kai Iwi Moana Pasifika Day

Kia ora whanau,

This is a free event for all ages.

Te Hau Ora Nga Puhi

Kia ora koutou,

I hope this pānui finds you well.

I’m reaching out to ask for your support in sharing the attached pānui with your whānau, friends, and wider community networks. You may know whānau who are well connected in their communities and could help share this across community pages, marae pages, or local networks.

The purpose of this service is simple but important: to support our rural whānau by bringing services closer to them. With the ongoing rise in the cost of living and petrol prices, we know accessing support can be challenging. By taking the service out into the community, we aim to reduce those barriers and make it easier for whānau to get the help they need.

Every share makes a difference, together we can help ensure this kaupapa reaches those who will benefit most.

Thank you all for your continued support and for helping us spread the word far and wide.

WHAT ARE ATTENDANCE DUES?

The Ministry of Education does not fund building related costs at our School. Attendance Dues are only used to pay for building related costs. They can not be used for any other purposes.  Paying Attendance Dues is a condition of enrolment for all students attending our School. Attendance Dues are compulsory – there is a legal requirement for parents and caregivers to pay Attendance Dues under the Education and Training Act 2020. They are not a donation.
