Memory Verse

And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave you.

Ephesians 4:32

PRINCIPAL’S NOTICE

Kia ora whanau,

To those who have lost loved ones of late, our sincere condolences go out to you all. Ki a ratou ma kua wheturangitia hoki atu wairua ki a Ihowa o nga mano. Nona e hakarite to tatou turanga.

Council Chambers: Last week, our Years 11-13 students went to the FNDC Chambers in Kaikohe to get an insight into how the Far North District Council operates and what future vacancies may be available. They were commended on their standard of dress as they all wore blazers and ties. They were hosted by Councilor Arohanui Allen.

Art: Our group of Year 7-8 art students did a wonderful job of drawing designs for the pavement entry into the new Public Library and Information Centre.

Photography: Our photography class had a trip to Kororareka, photographing significant landmarks.

Te Ao Haka: We welcome on board Whaea Waiora Wihongi Court, who is assisting Whaea Michelle in Te Ao Haka. They have just completed a sojourn to Te Tii.

Netball: Congratulations to the staff and whanau coming on board, and putting their hands up to coach and manage the netball teams, Years 3-4, Years 5-6, and Secondary. Our Seniot Netball Team competes every Thursday at Hawaiki.

Rugby: Next Wednesday, the Kotahitanga Girls rugby team, which is made up of NC, TE KURA, and KCS students, will begin their campaign. Ethel Hapeta Kemp and Isabella Heihei Walker will be representing our kura.

7’s Rugby: Last week, we entered our first 7’s Rugby Tournament for Years 7-8. Although we were somewhat inexperienced, we were able to come away with two wins, a draw, and two losses. Every team needs two or three X Factor players, and we had one that stood out, Terehia Nicole Pukeroa.

Basketball: A big thank you to Matua Paul, our P/E Teacher, and his wife Jessica for coaching the Junior and Senior Basketball Teams. They compete every Wednesday at Hawaiki

Enrolments: We are continuing to believe in a roll increase to fill our Year 3-4 class and secondary department. If you desire to have your child taught in a Christian environment, please inquire at our front office.

Ahakoa he iti te matakahi Ka pakarukaru te totara. Although the wedge is small, it will split the totara. We may be small in numbers, but we shall overcome our foes.

Mauriora, God bless you all.

Matua Te Rangi Allen

WHAT ARE ATTENDANCE DUES?

The Ministry of Education does not fund building related costs at our School. Attendance Dues are only used to pay for building related costs. They can not be used for any other purposes.  Paying Attendance Dues is a condition of enrolment for all students attending our School. Attendance Dues are compulsory – there is a legal requirement for parents and caregivers to pay Attendance Dues under the Education and Training Act 2020. They are not a donation.
