PAPA HAWAIKI STREAM PLANTING

Papa Hawaiki Stream Planting Afternoon

Over the last two years students have participated in EOTC that focuses on caring for the environment, in particular our local waterways. Next week is Conservation Week in NZ and we plan to celebrate by doing a community planting. We warmly invite whanau to participate in our planting day. Our children will need gumboots on the day and a warm jacket.
KCS received funding called the Environmental Leaders Fund through the Northern Regional Council. The funds have been used to pay for fencing supplies. The fence construction was donated by PJ Dairy and the native trees have been donated by Hokianga Harbour Care. The area fenced ready for planting belongs to the Riley family.
If any whanau have stories related to the Papa Hawaiki stream that they could share, please get in contact with me.
We hope to see you there!

Sports Academy
For the remainder of the year, students and whanau have an opportunity to support one another in building base fitness.
For our students who are in sports teams, building your base fitness will give your team an advantage.
For our students who are not in teams, I encourage you even more so.
Wednesday mornings, all fitness levels welcome (walkers too) The meeting place is the KCS carpark.
For students who do not live nearby, showers and breakfast are also available.
If you have any questions, please contact Whaea Lana [email protected]  or Komene [email protected]

Rugby
1ST XV

For the first time, the 1st XV Boys Rugby Team will be playing Whangarei Boys in the final this Wednesday at Whangarei. We beat Kerikeri High 24-12 to reach the final. This is a monumental challenge, so we will have to play exceedingly well to overcome.

WHAT ARE ATTENDANCE DUES?

The Ministry of Education does not fund building related costs at our School. Attendance Dues are only used to pay for building related costs. They can not be used for any other purposes.  Paying Attendance Dues is a condition of enrolment for all students attending our School. Attendance Dues are compulsory – there is a legal requirement for parents and caregivers to pay Attendance Dues under the Education and Training Act 2020. They are not a donation.
